The Chambers of F Khan Complaints Procedure

Clients can pursue a complaint via the chambers complaints procedure.

  • Clients can complain to Legal Ombudsman if they are unhappy with the final response to their complaint, or if their complaint has not been dealt with in eight weeks; and

  • A client must complain to the Legal Ombudsman either within 6 years of a barrister’s actions / failure to act, or no later than 3 years after the client should reasonably have known there were grounds to complain. The client must also complain to the Legal Ombudsman within 6 months of receiving the barrister’s final response to a complaint. Clients can complain to the Legal Ombudsman if they are unhappy with the final response to their complaint, or if their complaint has not been dealt with in 8 weeks.

  • The decision data on Legal Ombudsman website shows providers which received an ombudsman’s decision in the previous 12 months. In each case, the data shows whether Legal Ombudsman required the provider to give the consumer a remedy.

The BSB’s Barristers’ Register shows

(1) who has a current practising certificate,

(2) whether a barrister has any disciplinary findings, which are published on the Barristers’ Register in accordance with published policy.
